Nifedipine/Atenolol should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. This medication is a combination of two drugs, a beta blocker called atenolol and a calcium channel blocker called nifedipine. Together they help in the management of angina and hypertension. They work by relaxing the blood vessels and improving blood flow to the heart. The medication is available in formulations that contain 50 mg Atenolol and 20 mg sustained release formulation of nifedipine. The tablets may be taken once or twice daily as required.
